Given the COVID-19 pandemic, we decided the best thing to do at this time is to cancel this year's Alex's Duck Duck Run at Margaret Upton Arboretum.

We look forward to making the 2021 event a great one when we can all gather together to support childhood cancer research.

Alex's Virtual Duck Duck Run 5K & 1K is for kids and adults of all ages and fitness levels. Walk or run at your own pace anywhere you like. The park, track, or the treadmill! Where you run isn’t as important as why you run. In the U.S., more children die of childhood cancer than any other disease—more than AIDS, asthma, cystic fibrosis, congenital anomalies and diabetes COMBINED. Funding research is the only way to create change in the outcomes for kids fighting rare pediatric cancer like neuroblastoma.

HOW TO COMPLETE:

WHAT: This is a 1K (0.62 mile) Kids' Run or 5K Run/Walk to bring awareness to childhood cancer.

WHEN: Complete your race any time between June 13, 2020 and June 20, 2020.

WHERE: You choose the course! Run or Walk a 5K or 1K (0.62 miles) and submit a selfie or picture of yourself to Facebook or Instagram. Don't forget to tag The Alex Mandarino Foundation. If you're using a fitness tracker, take a screenshot or photo showing the distance you have covered to submit your evidence.

WHY: Because kids need a cure! This event is for Alex and all the kids who bravely fought cancer and those that continue to fight this terrible disease.

COST: This is a free event. There are no awards or t-shirts. You make a difference by simply posting pictures of your run or walk and sharing it on social media. Don't forget to include #alexsduckduck with your photo.

All proceeds benefit The Alex Mandarino Foundation. The Alex Mandarino Foundation is a 501(c)3 tax exempt public charity.
